February Service Project: Help the Franciscan Brothers Minor

  • HASA

Children of Our Lady of Angels (COLA) is a youth program that was established five years ago by the Franciscan Brothers Minor. On Saturday afternoons, the Brothers gather around 30 underprivileged neighborhood children between the ages of 5-12 for fellowship, a Bible lesson, a meal, crafts, and sports. It is a beautiful to hear these children speak of Jesus and Mary. The cold weather limits the outside sport activities. At this time COLA is in need of some items. Here are some items that they could use at this time:

  1. 3 Organizational totes to store our craft supplies in:

(1) 2 Drawer Cart – 18’D x 16″ W x 26 1/4″ H

(2) 5 Drawer Cart – 14 1/2″ D x 12 5/8″W x 41 1/8″ H

(3) 3 Drawer Card – 15 1/4″D x 21 7/8″W x 25 5/8″ H

  1. Play-dough
  2. Playing cards: Uno, Go Fish, deck of regular cards
  3. Felt board (large) with storyboard with figures & backgrounds
  4. Easy, fun kid games
  5. Zoo tickets (80 children, 20 adults – for COLA Summer Camp dates July 10-14)
  6. Soccer Balls, kick balls
  7. Religious coloring/activity books
  8. Markers
  9. Any fun indoor game or activity would be greatly appreciated.

This is meant to teach our children to give to those who have less than them. If your children have spare change there will be a jar for them to donate to this organization. This is by no means to burden anyone so if it is not a good time for your family that is understandable. We would like to deliver the donated items on February 23. Together we can help give to others. Thank you for your prayers and support. Please contact HASA with any questions.
